In joining the PM&R Center staff, Dr. Terri Katz has succeeded in reaching a goal of bringing her expertise in Geriatrics to Bergen County. With compassion and care, she devotes her self to meeting the medical and psychosocial needs of elderly patients, and to helping their families adjust to changing care-giving roles. Dr. Katz is dedicated to helping this community maintain the highest quality of life for its elderly members and is committed to disseminating information through consultations, seminars, publications, and by working with community agencies that provide services to the elderly.

Today there is a growing number of older persons living in our community; many are suffering from a number of Geriatric syndromes, and taking multiple medications.  As an internist specializing in the care of the elderly, Dr. Katz helps these individuals better understand their medical problems and not attribute increasing disability simply to aging.  Through ongoing communication, together doctor and patient can identify goals of care that take into consideration quality of life issues, pain management, and real financial constraints.  Functional well being for these patients is as important as medical stability, and Dr. Katz’s association with the PM&R Center ensures that this goal is met.

Dr. Terri Katz knows the importance of making sure individuals have adequate access to care, and is devoting much of her time to developing a program to provide specialized care to nursing home residents and homebound individuals.  Truly, making house calls has become the most gratifying aspect of her practice.

Dr. Katz serves as Medical Director of The Center for Health Living in Teaneck, NJ. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Katz, please call her office (201) 836-2990.
